Do you dream of animals?

This question may seem odd at first glance, but from the perspective of biology and by virtue of evolution, it must be this kind of behavior - Linked to sleep - preserved in most mammals, at least in the great apes.

This behavior has been studied in different mammals and makes sure his presence in most mammals, which are going through the same stages of sleep experienced by the human sleep, and that include a rapid eye movement associated with dreaming. Even so, the degree or natures of dreams in animals were not previously known.

In 2001, a team of researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology demonstrated that rats dream, and the dreams of rats similar to a large extent by dreams of human beings, which includes previous experiences during waking. In another study published last year, the researchers control the content of the dreams of rats in experiments. The importance of this behavior is still a mystery to scientists, but one theory suggests that this behavior is important in the formation of new nerve connections and to enhance memory.
